Divers For Turtles Photo Contest
As part of the launch of Divers for Turtles, SEE Turtles is holding our first ever photography contest to raise awareness for the plight of sea turtles around the world. The contest is free to enter and will remain open until Dec 15th at midnight Eastern time. Our in-house staff, photographer Bethany Augliere and Paula Von Weller, Too Rare To Wear Program Manager. will do the preliminary judging to narrow down the entries to 10 finalists per category. Our panel of judges will pick their top 3 in order for each category and we will determine the winners based on the rankings.
The Contest opens Nov 15th and the deadline is Dec 15th. Instructions to enter are below.

No cost to enter
Limit of 3 photos per person total
Open to anyone around the world (at least 18 years of age)
Photos must comply with the following best practices:
No flash photos
Distance of at least 10 feet (3 meters)
No touching (unless part of a permitted research program)
Images must represent the scene as it was, with no digital alterations and nothing removed or added from the scene. Minor editing allowed, such as adjustments to white balance, exposure, sharpening and cropping.
Photos must be at least 1 mb in size in JPEG format
Finalists (10 per category): Certificate, sea turtle ID card, and set of hatchling postcards & stickers
Runners Up (2 per category): Certificate, ID card, postcards & stickers, and a sea turtle t-shirt
Grand Prize (1 per category): A week of volunteering with Latin American Sea Turtles in Costa Rica (airfare not included), plus prizes listed above.

Contest is open Nov 15th to Dec 15th. Entries received after Dec 15th will not be considered.

Contest Terms & Conditions:
Ownership and copyright of all entries remain solely with the photographer. By submitting an entry, the entrant grants SEE Turtles an irrevocable, perpetual, and royalty-free right to use, reproduce, edit, display, transmit, prepare derivative works of, modify, publish and otherwise make use of the submitted entry. These rights include, but are not limited to, the right to modify, censor, compress, edit, affix logos to, and otherwise alter or make use of the submitted entry. Credit will be given when used by SEE Turtles and the organization will not share photos without prior permission. Entrant agrees that SEE Turtles shall have no obligation to post, display, or otherwise make publicly available the entry, and may, in its sole discretion, remove or delete the entry from SEE Turtle’s website, social media platform, or in other published locations.
By entering the Contest, you warrant that your entry is original, that you are the sole owner and copyright holder of your entry, and that you have not granted exclusive rights to all or part of your entry to any other person or entity. You also warrant that your entry does not violate the right of privacy of any individual; does not infringe any trademark, trade name, trade secret, intellectual property right, or other common law or statutory right; nor does it contain any material that might be deemed offensive or obscene, or that otherwise violates any criminal prohibition or the personal or proprietary rights of any person or entity.
